The Essex Symphony Orchestra is a registered charity and as such is non-profit making. It is dedicated to widening the audience reached by orchestral music in the County of Essex. To help us in this aim we are given donations, both financial and in kind, by like minded loyal supporters, and by generous local companies. These extra funds are of great importance to us, as they allow us to plan concerts with more adventurous content than we could otherwise manage. The generosity of these friends and sponsors is acknowledged in our programmes.

One of our Friends is Mrs Joy Bome, who has been honoured with the MBE for services to the community. Joy played clarinet in the orchestra at one time.

The ESO is affiliated to 'Making Music' (formerly the National Federation of Music Societies).
The Orchestra would like to record their thanks to the Essex County Council for their excellent library service.
We place advertisements for musical services in our concert programmes to help offset costs. We would ask for a £25 contribution to our funds for a full A5 presentation, or less for a half page. (See 'Contact' on the menu bar.)
For an annual subscription of £25 (or more!) we would welcome you as a 'Friend of the Essex Symphony Orchestra'. This membership status gives you benefits as follows:-
Prior information about all our concerts.
Priority seating.
1 Free Ticket to each of our 3 regular concerts.
Interval refreshments at the friends' table.
Your support acknowledged in our programmes
(and on our website if you are happy with that).
We sometimes invite friends to our social events, which are usually great fun.
We also welcome support from local businesses. Corporate Membership (£100.00) brings you all the above benefits, plus 1 extra Free Ticket to every concert and a half page advertisement in our programme. (And possibly a link from our website to yours if you have one)
