Map of the Centre of Chelmsford Essex

The Google map below is set to 'Satellite' and is centred on Chelmsford Cathedral, so that using the controls you can zoom in on that building. At the top of the map you can see Marconi Road and immediately below that is the Marconi works site on New Street which was the first purpose built radio factory in the world. Unfortunately it no longer operates under that great name. The first radio factory in the world was sited in Hall Street Chelmsford which comes into view if you raise the map slightly in the frame. The building still stands and has a commemorative plaque. The Essex County Cricket Ground is clearly seen.
