Essex Symphony Orchestra (UK)The Essex Symphony Orchestra (UK) gives regular concerts in Essex, England (UK) with an interesting variety of programmes and high quality soloists. Our repertoire includes classical, romantic and modern music and we accompany choral works. We would like you to take part in our activities, either as a member of the audience or, possibly, as a playing member. Justin Doyle has given up his post with the ESO in order to further his career, acting as artistic director of the Ryedale Festival and working with Opera North and we wish him all the best. We are in the process of choosing a new Musical Director who will conduct us in the 2009/2010 season. The ESO is sad that the EMA, its longstanding partner organisation, gave its last concert in May 2009. Overall, the best viewing is obtained with either 1024 by 768 or 800 by 600 resolution. We recommend that with TFT screens the optimum resolution for the particular PC is used.
You can access a mine of information on the composers whose works we are playing, our celebrities and our concert venues. Go to 'concerts', click the image where indicated to get more details, and then use the profile buttons at the top of the detail page to find data on composers, conductor(s), soloists and venues.
The concert details are given in good faith with a reasonable expectation that the programme will be followed but please recheck near the time of the concert in case we are forced to make changes.
Members or potential new members should click 'membership' where information is given on how to join and what is going on this season.
